El documento presenta los resultados de un trabajo de compilación y homogeneización de los censos industriales,
mostrando la evolución comparada de la industria manufacturera a nivel de 79 ramas homogéneas. Las variables estudiadas
fueron: a) número de establecimientos, b) personal ocupado,
c) valor agregado, d) valor bruto de producción. Además, se estimaron diferentes indicadores. El principal desafío del trabajo
ha sido elaborar categorías sectoriales homogéneas para poder
efectuar la comparabilidad histórica, ello por cuanto en diferentes Censos Económicos se utilizaron diversos criterios de
subdivisión sectorial.

This paper presents the results of a work of
compilation and homogeneization of the industrial censuses,
showing the comparative evolution of the manufacturing
industry at the level of 79. The variables studied were: a)
number of establishments, b) employed personnel, c) value
aggregate, d) gross value of production. In addition, different
indicators were estimated. The main challenge of the work
has been to elaborate homogenous sectorial categories in order
to be able to make the historical comparability, because in
different Economic Censuses diverse subdivision criteria were
used by branches.
